Lenovo V14 14″ features: design
Designed with more minor and slimmer bezels, this 14-inch laptop comes in Iron Gray finishing. The laptop weighs 3.5 pounds and comes with a dimension of 12.9 x 9.5 x 0.8 inches. This is a laptop you can conveniently carry around in your day job.
The Lenovo V14 comes with a standard spill-resistant keyboard for your input. The keyboard does not have a backlit though, which means you will need a lighting peripheral if you’re going to work at night. Just below the keyboard is a wide trackpad, as usual, it is quite centralized and we found it to be very responsive.
Elsewhere by the side are ports for connection. You get one USB 2.0, two USB 3.1 Gen 1, a 4-in-1 SD card reader, and an HDMI 1.4. With that, you should be able to transfer files from one device to another in the office or at home. Additionally, you get a Headphone/Microphone Combo Jack to keep you entertained or video conferencing with colleagues.
Display
On the display part of things, the 14-inch screen is non-touch, with FHD (1920 x 1080) pixels. With narrower bezels, the display also features an anti-glare and 220 nits to help give you a better visual experience and display colors beautifully. It is not the brightest you can get in the market right now, but it is a bad choice either.
You can stretch the display to a tray-like structure, thanks to its 180-degree hinges on the screen. You don’t have to worry about the flexes being damaged even if you’re getting the laptop for your kids at home.
Graphically speaking, the Lenovo V14 comes with an AMD Radeon graphics card to run the show. The graphics card is integrated, meaning it is part of the CPU component. The Integrated graphics card might not be able to do some high graphics-demanding tasks such as graphics design or video editing, but it will allow you to watch all your movies nicely.
Performance
The Lenovo V14 laptop comes with Windows 11 Pro designed to keep you productive. With all the exciting features Windows 11 Operating System brings, such as allowing you to use Android apps, you’re going to double your productivity with this laptop.
As you already know, the CPU boasted an AMD Athlon Gold 3150U Processor. The CPU has two cores that can execute your commands at a speed of 2.4GHz. The speed can Turbo boost up to 3.3GHz when tasked heavily. If you need a CPU that’s designed for responsive computing while doing lots of web browsing, then the Lenovo V14 is for you.
Accompanying the CPU is up to 20GB of DDR4 RAM and 1TB of SSD for booting your computer quickly and making sure programs are executed without delay. This means you can navigate through multiple Chrome tabs simultaneously without experiencing any lagging or freezing of your computer. There’s also enough room for you to store all your files.
Battery life and charging
Powering the laptop is a 3-cell Lithium-Ion battery. The battery is guaranteed to last five and a half-hour on a single charge. With laptops like Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 lasting more than twelve hours on a single charge, it is obvious this is not the best battery life you will get but it is capable of serving you for the most part of the day.
Included in the box is an AC Adapter that can fast charge the laptop from 0 – 50% in 60 minutes. This is some good news because you can get your laptop very fast and get back to your presentation as soon as possible.
Lenovo V14 price and availability
The entry-level model is priced at $349.99 and comes with 8GB RAM / 128GB SSD. The 8GB RAM / 256GB SSD model costs $389.99. Other models and their price are 12GB RAM /512GB SSD at $449.99, 20GB RAM / 512GB SSD at $479.99, and 20GB RAM / 1TB SSD at $ 529.99. Is Lenovo V14 14″ laptop good for graphic design?
Clearly, this is not a laptop built for high-end graphic designers. It is only suitable for everyday use such as Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, teleconferencing, video streaming, and more. This is due to the fact that the GPU can only handle light graphics work without heating up the computer or freezing. Unlike the more dedicated GPUs you get in specialized graphics design laptops, the AMD Radeon GPU here is only meant to help produce a beautiful display with enhanced colors.
